Silicon Valley Pride: August 26th-27th, 2017

Silicon Valley Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community which started back in 1975 as a gay rights rally and evolved into San Jose Pride Festival in 1976. In 1977, San Jose added its first parade to the celebration.  Furthermore, in 2014, San Jose Pride decided to include neighboring cities with the goal of encouraging unity. As a result, the event was renamed to Silicon Valley Pride. The  festival recently became the largest Pride celebration of the South Bay and is a family friendly event.

In all, that makes 42 years of honoring and celebrating the rights to choose whom we love and spend our lives with! The LGBTQ+ movement has been built on the backs of people who have fought hard for equality and progression. Additionally, SV Pride chooses to honor those individuals and those who have been lost along the way. It is important, now more than ever, to make our voices heard and to celebrate our diversity! As a result, the LGBT community demands not be pushed aside and remains determined not be erased! So come out and celebrate Gay Pride at Silicon Valley Pride on August 26 and 27. Let your rainbows shine!
