Charleston Pride: September

The mission of the Charleston Pride organization has always been to bring together all communities within Charleston and push for the rights of everyone, and also be to be a place full acceptance for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. We hope events like these will open up the eyes of people. That it will show we are all individuals that are just unique in our own way. This year, we are glad to welcome various guest ranging from influential speakers, to hilarious comedians. Throughout, their will be various events the attend and enjoy, with all of it leading up to the Charleston Pride Parade. We hope we can provide everyone with something they will enjoy and help you celebrate pride with everyone around! Highlights:

  • Influential speakers during OUT SPOKEN, Alliance For Full Acceptance and An Evening with Sarah McBride

  • See all the colors of the rainbow at the Prism Party


Charleston Pride Parade

9:00 AM
This is a Pride parade like no other. Join crowds of people lining King Street as our parade runs right through the middle of downtown Charleston. Stepping off at 9:00 AM, the parade route goes from Ann Street down King Street to Broad Street, and then to Colonial Lake.


Drag Brunch
Sunday September 17th, 2017
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Come kick back with us and sip mimosas, gulp bloody marys, and watch a fabulous drag show hosted by Symone N. O’Bishop.  Enjoy Tabbuli’s fabulous brunch buffet, listen to the beats of their house DJ and take in all the sights and sounds of the Haus of Tabbuli.

Charleston Pride Festival

Headlining Big Freedia and David Hernandez. Head to Brittlebank Park, beside the beautiful Ashley River, to walk among vendors, food trucks, and beer and alcohol sales, all while taking in entertainment and speakers from the stage. Nothing says Pride like a day in the park. Show your Pride and plan to celebrate!Hosted by the one and only, Patti O’Furniture and featuring entertainment by DJ Beck Danger and Bridgette Pharaohs, Empress of Charleston Pride!

Set sail with Charleston Pride and kick off our 2017 festival! You’ve heard of our harbor cruises before…. Well, this one will be bigger, better and longer than ever before! The evening will feature hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and DJ K spinning the beats. This boat features three levels with an air-conditioned floor and an open air top deck. This is an event you won’t want to miss!

Pride Interfaith Service

Join us for Charleston’s Interfaith Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Service. The service is open to Charlestonians of every faith and philosophy. Welcoming and affirming religious leaders will be there as we celebrate or diversity and commit ourselves to work for equal dignity and justice for all. All are welcome.

An Evening With Sarah McBride

Sponsored by Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the College of Charleston Gender and Sexuality Equity Center. Nationally known transgender activist and National Press Secretary for HRC, Sarah McBride will share her story, reflect on the current state of the LGBTQ movement, and our path forward. Sarah will also lead a discussion with local activists around the current LGBTQ movement in the Lowcountry.

OUT SPOKEN: An Evening of Poetry and Spoken Word
