AIDS Red Ribbon Ride: August

Trillium Health: A a multi-day bicycle ride to raise funds for HIV/AIDS services, treatment, prevention, and awareness. This event will take place in Finger Lakes region, New York. Come join us on AIDS Red Ribbon Ride which includes flexible routes and tent-camping arrangements each night.

The Finger Lakes Region of New York boasts some of the most spectacular riding you’ll ever encounter. Riders have the options to choose from one, three, or five days of a fully supported scenic bicycle tour. Ride or volunteer while making new friends. No matter what your skill level, our carefully planned routes will provide you with a comfortable tour or a personal challenge.

The lives that you’ll touch will honor the shared challenge of ending this epidemic and give meaning to your sore legs. Join us to make a difference.

Highlights:

  • Ride through 9,000 square miles of stunning views, quiet roads, beautiful state parks
  • Enjoy the beautiful view from the Genesee River Valley
  • Enjoy a nightly campfire, where someone might even pick up a guitar or a banjo
  • Relax with friends over a game of cards at a picnic table beside the fire before crawling into your cozy tent and sleeping bag
  • Make new friends as you help raise money and awareness

ITINERARY

1 Day Option: 64 Miles
Saturday, August 18, 2017

Our 1-day tour is designed for weekend warriors and leisure riders who want to complete a “metric century” (100 km). You will tackle a beautiful scenic ride alongside the 5-day riders all the way to Canandaigua, where we’ll enjoy a team lunch. The route then loops back up north and follows the historic Erie Canal home to Rochester.

Day 1: 90 Miles
Saturday, August 18, 2017

Our first full day together will head us out of Rochester towards Canandaigua and points beyond and will finish up in the gorgeous Taughannock Falls State Park.

Day 2: 100 Miles
Sunday, August 19, 2017

On our second day, all riders will have the option to take on the challenge of a full century ride around beautiful Cayuga Lake.  For those who would rather prepare for the following days, other activities will be available.

 

Day 3: 74 Miles
Monday, August 20, 2018

Day 3 will take us westward from Taughannock Falls, through Watkins Glen and along the coast of Keuka Lake. We’ll spend the evening together in Keuka Lake State Park. Day 3, aka Red Ribbon Day, is a special tradition. Clad in red, the team will form a Red Ribbon on the roads to remember all those we’ve lost. The 3-day ride ends with a shuttle ride back to Rochester.

Day 4: 74 Miles
Tuesday, August 21, 2018

The tour on Day 4 will feature some of the wonderful forests and parks of Western New York and will conclude with a camp-out in Letchworth State Park, affectionately referred to as the Grand Canyon of the East.

Day 5: 50 Miles
Wednesday, August 22, 2018

On our last day of the AIDS Red Ribbon Ride, we will return to the Trillium Health headquarters in Rochester to celebrate our accomplishments and spend time with the staff and clients of an organization that works tirelessly to End the HIV Epidemic.

The AIDS Red Ribbon Ride is a 1, 3, or 5 day fundraising event that takes place throughout the Finger Lakes Region.  All proceeds from the event fund the medical care, support services, prevention programs, and community outreach provided by Trillium Health.
