Some questions for thought, would love to hear yours!

1. This novel follows the life of a woman who clearly chooses her own path, opposing her family’s wishes, societal pressures, and even the law. She literally reveals every possible thing about herself except for the one that perhaps mattered most. Why (at bottom) did Vestal deny herself this?

2. How (if at all) was this story about sexual relativism?

3. Since we get to see the span of Vestal’s whole lifetime, how did the backdrop of the changing times and eras affect her, if at all?

4. Were Vestal’s choices admirable? courageous? deplorable? inexcusable? Which of Vestal’s paths were already chosen for her, rather than self-determined?

5. Did Vestal end up living her life like her parents did, despite all her efforts to do just the opposite?

6. This story dwells on Vestal’s affinity to clothes, jewelry, and other material things. What did those things really represent to Vestal?

7. In terms of other elements of this novel, what did you think of the character development? And the pace, flow, and voice?

since i’ll be facilitating the second novella
pls be prepared for a 500 question pop quiz?!
alternatively, a 50,000 word doctoral dissertation, preferably of publishable quality, is acceptable, too?!
nahhh, just be ready to have some FUN!
i’ll send out some springboard-type, discussion questions this weekend

since i happily made a fool-of-myself-for-love last time with that blasted karaoke machine, if anyone would like to share their impressions of the second novella through interpretative dance &/or japanese noh theater, complete with masks, make-up and costumes, senator has the camera ready!

Hey Russ, this class is great for ALL levels; never done yoga before, never done hot yoga to the very experienced. Our instructor, Thom Taylor takes us through a class with varied option so everyone’s needs are met.

It is an amazing workout…do not let the connotation of sitting in a room cross legged fool you. However, you will have the best night’s sleep after taking the class. You WILL be challenged.

We hope you will join us! February’s class brought in many first ever yoga participants, you’ll fit right in!

Did y’all sleep like a rock that night? Cole, I’m so glad you ventured outside your comfort zone…the rewards can be amazing. And, congratulations on winning the coveted unlimited yoga classes. Look forward to seeing you guys in at March’s class. I’m a huge Thom Taylor hot yoga fan, the music was a nice touch and his sense of humor makes the class so approachable.

I was a little hesitant when signing up for this event since I had only taken a few beginner yoga classes in the past and wasn’t sure how I’d handle an hour of yoga in a 105 degree room. The class turned out to be great! The heat didn’t bother me and it actually allowed me to stretch a little further than I normally can. To top it all off, I won the raffle and received a free week of unlimited yoga classes which I will be taking advantage this week. I’ll be attending again in March and highly recommend the class to anyone with an interest, even if you’ve never taken a yoga class before.

Thanks for your interest in this very unique event.
We’re watching the weather to ensure a safe and pleasurable experience. Currently there is no make-up date, but that could change. Manatee season in Tampa Bay draws to a close as the weather warms up prohibiting this event to occur much later than mid-March. Should event dates be altered due to the weather we’ll post the info asap.
Doing the research for this event was a blast, we lucked out with great weather.

I would like to do this event, especially since I’ve seen it while kayaking in Key West. My concern is the weather, is there a rain make-up date? Also, will you have this event again when it’s warmer out?
The video is a great prerequisite before heading out.

WOW! I am definitely going to sign up for the next one. I felt incredible when we were done, and I wasn’t sore the next day either.
