Gulfport StandUp Paddle Research

It was a beautiful day to explore the tranquil Boca Ciega Bay off Gulfport Beach. The O&A research team – Robert, Barbara, and Brody Welte of StandUp Fitness – grabbed their paddle boards and headed out into this protected basin that extends outward from Gulfport past Isla del Sol and under the Pinellas Bayway, into the Gulf of Mexico.

The waters were calm and the sun shining as the crew paddled passed the scenic Gulfport beachfront. Along with the Gulfport Marina and the historic Gulfport Casino sitting on water’s edge, this charming community has a vibrant arts district and a number of restaurants and shops near the beach. The beach has ample parking, pavilions and picnic benches, and a walking/biking path nearby. The Boca Ciega Yacht Club is nearby, and colorful sailboats dot the bay’s waters.

In other words, it’s a perfect spot for an O&A paddle boarding adventure!  Check out our pics below, and leave us a comment below if you want to be the first to know about our upcoming Gulfport paddles!

We’ve got lots of great SUP events in the works: in the beautiful waters of Sarasota, at sunset in Gulfport, a city tour through downtown Tampa and O&A Adventure Day combing SUP with kayaking and rock climbing!

Have something to say?
