o&a men and women met for an evening of fun and intense court action at the renowned st. pete shuffleboard club!

situated in the heart of downtown st. pete next to mirror lake, the st. pete shuffleboard club was established in 1924. it is an historic landmark, well-preserved by the club membership and the city of st. pete. it consists of two main buildings for social events, several outbuildings, picnic areas, and courts that can accommodate up to 100 players at a time. its renown comes from being the world’s largest shuffleboard club, the birthplace of land shuffleboard rules, and the backdrop for some of the scenes in the movie “cocoon” in 1985.

nearly 20 o&a members gathered to enjoy this classic sport. they hit the courts donned in their retro 50s attire to pay homage to the decade when the st. pete shuffleboard club was at its peak with over 5000 members. between games, o&aers enjoyed delicious pizza from tour de pizza, an eclectic music mix, the club’s charming tivoli lighting, and great camaraderie during friendly (but fierce!) competition.
