July Film Series Movie: My Normal

this month’s dinner will be at the always fabulous hamburger mary’s in ybor, and the movie is “my normal,” about the life of a dominatrix working as one of the most desirable mistresses in nyc’s underground.

our evening starts with mingling, fun, delicious food, and prizes at the always gay hamburger mary’s, sponsor of the tampa international gay film festival!  remember, those who wear o&a gear will automatically be entered in our wear & win raffle, for some very special prizes given out at the end of the meal!   for dinner, you have four options:

3 little mary burgers (over a 1/4 lb of meat total) one with cheese
3 chicken mini sandwiches
veggie wrap or
veggie salad

sandwiches and wrap include a side order of coleslaw. all tables will receive a plate of fries for sharing. your all inclusive dinner price covers sales tax, gratuity, and beverage choice of soda, iced tea or coffee. it does not include other drink options and gratuity on those drinks.

movie:  prepare to meet your dominatrix!

after dinner, we take a very short walk to the nearby muvico for our tiglff selection of the night, “my normal.”   this 2009 film depicts the story of natalie, a young lesbian from manhattan’s lower east side, struggling to find a balance between her dreams of becoming a film maker and her lifestyle as a dominatrix.   her exotic looks and unconventional techniques make her one of the most desirable mistresses in the nyc underground.  after befriending her weed dealer and igniting a steamy love affair with her new girl, natalie gets an internship on a real movie set.  but if everything she ever wanted is becoming a reality, why is her life falling apart?   when it seems that all is lost, natalie realizes that the only way to turn her dreams into reality is to use her unique talents as a dominatrix to get exactly what she wants!
