O&A at Am Stage for The Seafarer

join o&a as we once again invade american stage for an evening of brilliant, devilish theater!

about the play
called “the best new play of the year” by the wall street journal, the seafarer premieres at american stage fresh from its recent broadway run.   this chilling play from acclaimed playwright conor mcpherson was inspired by celtic folklore about the hellfire club, a place where english aristocrats would go and be debauched.

in his play, mcpherson describes one christmas eve in dublin, where a quartet of raffish, hard-drinking irishmen playing poker are joined by an ominous stranger.  as the drinking and the game intensifies, the players realize who the stranger is and what the stakes really are.   the seafarer explores the power of myth, how we face the demons of our past, and struggle for redemption.

this american stage production is directed by todd olson and stars tom nowicki, christopher swan, brian webb russell, steve garland, and richard coppinger.

before the play
our evening will begin in true o&a style with an hour of mingling and fabulous food in a gorgeous setting, the vinoy’s poolside patio overlooking st. pete’s waterfront.  each guest has a choice of either a roasted veggie salad, or a delicious sampler plate that includes a crab cake with corn-pineapple salsa, a caramelized onion empanada with papaya ketchup and pineapple marmalade, 3 buffalo wings with bleu cheese and celery, and 2 conch fritters with apricot relish and sweet-spicy chili sauce. tax and gratuity included. drink specials include: $1 off adult beverages until 7pm and $2 non-alcoholic beverages, gratuity on included on beverages.

carriage ride option
a 20-minute downtown scenic ride in a horse-drawn cinderella carriage is available using the drop down option below.  carriage will depart at 7:20 from the vinoy arriving at the front entrance to the theatre at 7:40 the all inclusive price covers carriage ride, applicable taxes and gratuity. please note carriages must have minimum number of occupants, should we not be able to meet those minimums the difference, $11.50, will be credit back to via paypal
