I will see you at March’s book club. I thoroughly enjoyed last night’s discussion and meeting all who were there.

if you like triology novellas, check out ecstacy: three tales of chemical romance by irvine welsh
he is known for writing trainspotting, which is about heroin addiction & was turned into a movie
i think this collection is in filming now

welsh is very talented, writes about what he knows (life in scocland’s projects) & since this book is probably the most profane book i’ve ever read, it’s not available in the pinellas county library system

does anyone remember the title of an independent film that takes place in underground montreal where a group of young people– who live, work & play underground– bet each other who can go the longest without going top-side?

  4. byron says:

since i’ll be facilitating the second novella
pls be prepared for a 500 question pop quiz?!
alternatively, a 50,000 word doctoral dissertation, preferably of publishable quality, is acceptable, too?!
nahhh, just be ready to have some FUN!
i’ll send out some springboard-type, discussion questions this weekend

since i happily made a fool-of-myself-for-love last time with that blasted karaoke machine, if anyone would like to share their impressions of the second novella through interpretative dance &/or japanese noh theater, complete with masks, make-up and costumes, senator has the camera ready!
    see ya’ll then!

  5. Robert says:

I’ll be there…and am sooooo looking forward to it…3 stories…three moderators…lots of fun..
Hey Byron…with you as our “leader” how could it not be….FUN?

  6. Jim Huston says:

    See you at Book Club.

  7. byron says:

i invited the author prof leavitt to join us
& he does not live too far away
he appreciated the invite, but alas he teaches on tuesdays?
    sugar!
i’ll let him know how it goes

  8. James says:

Hi, guys… I am planning on attending, but –atlas–still need to read the last story. Just wanted to confirm, it is at CDB’s–which means –yeah!– two months in a row on the Tampa side.

    • robert says:

An email was sent out last week to all Book Club Members informing everyone of the flip flop of Tampa/St Pete discussion group meeting. If you didn’t receive it let us know, we’re trying to keep all members in the know! You are correct, that makes two in a row on Tampa side, good eye!

    trivia bottom of p. 104
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_orange
florida is a huge producer & exporter of blood oranges & blood orange juice, which doesn’t sell well here, but does in italy

Have something to say?
