The book club sounds interesting, but I am curious to know where it will be held.
This will be my first time attending, so I am just looking to check it out before joining…

    Thanks!

Please feel free to add your comments and questions about the book. Here are some of mine:

    1. What purpose do you think this memoir served for Andrea?

    2. Near the end of the book, Andrea describes her “performance theater” idea. Was this memoir her theater?

    3. How does Andrea’s point of view as a lesbian seem to influence her writing?

    4. Is Andrea just a massive whiner, or are there underlying layers to her story?

    5. Does this memoir serve as a helpful guide for pregnancy? If so, how?

    6. Does Andrea find humor in her own misery? Do we? If so, what passages?

    7. How does Andrea’s relationship to Kate affect her journey?

    8. What role does Robin play in Andrea’s pregnancy?

    9. How about Andrea’s other friends and family – how do they affect her pregnancy?

    10. In what ways is Andrea BP different from Andrea DP (during pregnancy)? and how is Andrea DP different from Andrea PP (post pregnancy)?

    11. Do the last three paragraphs of the “Five Months” (PP) section shed any light on Andrea’s decision to get pregnant?

    12. What did you think of Andrea’s manner of speaking to others? Given that, and everything else she reveals, what overall picture does Andrea paint of herself in this memoir?

  5. Jeannie Woodruff says:

I am reading this month’s selection, but will be unable to attend the meeting next week in Ybor. Maybe next time on this side of the bridge. Hope everyone has a good time!
