Second Splash
In the early ’90s, Robert Geller made a splash when he opened his What 2 Wear clothing shop in Ybor City. The swim-, under- and loungewear shop featured floor-to-ceiling windows containing Tampa Bay’s sexiest—and first “openly gay” —mannequins. Geller eventually moved the store to St. Petersburg’s Suncoast Resort, and then opened a branch near Georgie’s Alibi before closing shop to get his MBA. But now the handsome and fit-as-ever Geller is back with another timely idea for the local GLBT community. Outings and Adventures is an introduction service of sorts, planning events that will allow singles and couples to connect not at a bar or over the Internet, but while engaged in stimulating activities, e.g., cooking classes, water-skiing lessons and movie premieres. As envisioned by Geller, O&A will also function like a concierge, providing members with access to choice theater tickets and the like. Starting with a couple outings a month, the service will be free as it builds membership. For more information, check out Geller’s blog at OutingsAndAdventures.BlogSpot.com.
